Periodontitis: a fast, effective and painless therapy
Chlosite gel with 1.5% chlorhexidine to eliminate bacteria in the periodontal pocket; the pocket in a one-off therapy will become shallower by as much as 6 mm.
Xanthan gel along with 1.5% chlorhexidine ensures that the product remains in the periodontal pocket forming a three-dimensional network on contact with water.
The pocket in a one-off therapy will become shallower by as much as 6 mm.
Teeth become considerably more stable.
Gel application is non-invasive and painless.
Advanced periodontal diseases were problematic to treat so far. Frequently, even highly specialised treatment techniques did not allow us to stop the disease process.
Under physiological conditions, after the tooth is completely erupted, the periodontal pocket is 0.5–1.5 mm deep. Following the exposure to bacteria or mechanical pressure by tartar, the pocket becomes deeper, and, then, bones become destroyed. Thus, the pocket is even as much as 10 mm deep and there is a purulent secretion during the exacerbations of the disease. The disease results in wobbly teeth.
The gingivitis therapy is only limited to the local application of an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent like the gel Chlosite with unique properties where chlorhexidine becomes slowly and continually released within two weeks.
The pharmacological treatment of gingivitis with Chlosite should be preceded by the removal of the deposits on teeth (scaling or curettage).
Periodontal diseases (also known as periodontitis) are the second cause, after dental caries, of tooth loss and the most widespread ones. If the disease is not stopped, the gum pocket will deepen and the periodontal ligament and bones will deteriorate. Then, it is the deep form of the disease. Initially, teeth will become slightly wobbly and bone pockets will form.
Proper drugs and tartar removal will reduce or eliminate the acute phase of the inflammatory process. However, teeth will remain loose and will have the atrophic periodontium. At this stage, it is important to stabilise teeth. Tooth stabilisation is achieved through special splints, crowns or temporary bridges. However, very often in advanced cases, pharmacotherapy and immobilisation of teeth with the splint or crowns are insufficient.
One of the methods for stabilising loose teeth is a splint placed from the palatal side that is invisible from the outside.
After teeth are immobilised, we perform guided tissue regeneration procedures. These are highly specialised surgical procedures with special biomaterials stimulating the atrophied periodontium to regenerate. Thus, we can restore, to a significant extent, the function and aesthetics of atrophied gums and damaged teeth.
Professional hygienic procedures involving the removal of supragingival and subgingival deposits, known as scaling, as well as polishing the root cementum surface along with curettage involving the removal of granulation tissue are the common procedures in the treatment of periodontal diseases. Frequently, periodontal diseases tend to lead to the loss of the bone of the alveolar process to a greater or lesser extent. The treatment of bone tissue losses increasingly often involves the state-of-the-art techniques to reconstruct that tissue in the regeneration process.
Litemedics: an advanced diode laser
To ensure comfort and safety of our patients, we extend our portfolio with a series of procedures performed with a diode laser. Litemedics is a technologically advanced laser with a power of 12 W
Litemedics can be used to safely and effectively perform surgical procedures on soft tissues. It ensures high precision, safety and efficacy at work.
Owing to its special tip, its bactericidal activity rises.
Thus, we can treat aphthous ulcers and periimplantitis; in addition, canals can be disinfected during the root canal therapy as well as a series of periodontal procedures can be performed.
The laser can also be used in cosmetic dentistry. It works perfectly in teeth whitening.
